Annual Report of the Lay Observer 2006 : Action Moving on...

The Lay Observer for Northern Ireland monitors complaints made by members of the public to the Law Society of Northern Ireland about the conduct of solicitors, and the handling of these complaints by the Society.

This annual report for the year 2006 focuses on the theme of "action - moving on", noting a very valuable relationship developing with the chief executive of the Law Society; an increased emphasis on good practice in complaints handling among solicitors; and the updating of Law Society material for clients who have the need to complain about their solicitors.
