Literacy Alive: Drama Projects for Literacy Learning

This is a resource for teachers and trainee teachers of Key Stages 1 and 2.

It offers ideas and lesson plans for literacy teaching through drama, together with guidance on implementing the Literacy Hour and addressing the National Curriculum drama requirements.

There are step-by-step lesson plans and advice on how further classroom projects might be planned.

Each chapter introduces a particular lesson, explaining its rationale, offering a case study and detailing how it can contribute to pupils' literacy learning.

Examples of pupils' work are given as examples. At the end of each chapter is a lesson guide, enabling teachers to use the drama project in the classroom.
