Nancy Astor was the first woman to take up a seat in the British House of Commons as a Member of Parliament, and as a social reformer and social hostess she has been recorded in 20th-century social and political history.

Her home, Cliveden in Buckinghamshire, was used as a Canadian military hospital in World War I and II.

This collection of her correspondence includes letters to: Sir Robert Broden; William Lyon; Mackenzie King; Richard Bedford Bennett and Lester Bowles Pearson.
