Christine Anne McVie (nee Perfect), born in the Lake District village of Bouth, Lancashire, England, UK on 12th July 1943, was a musician & songwriter, best known as a vocalist and keyboardist with the group Fleetwood Mac.

A member of several bands of the mid-60s British Blues scene, including Chicken Shack, Christine 1st began playing with Fleetwood Mac during 1968 as a contract session player, before joining the group in 1970.

She'd begun to emerge as a songwriter by the following year, with her first compositions featuring on Future Games, her 4th L.P. with the band. McVie stayed with Fleetwood Mac through many lineup changes over the following few decades, usually writing & performing lead vocals on c. 1/2 of the tracks on their studio albums, although she semi-retired during 1998, only featuring as a session musician on the group's last studio L.P., Say You Will.

Christine also issued 3 solo studio albums. Steve Leggett of AllMusic described her as an 'unabashedly easy-on-the-ears singer/songwriter, and the prime mover behind some of Fleetwood Mac's biggest hits'.

Eight songs written or co-written by McVie, including Don't Stop, Everywhere & Little Lies, featured on Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits (1988). She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Fleetwood Mac and received the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in 1998.

Christine left that same year, after almost 3 decades with the band, semi-retiring for almost 15 years.

She put out a solo L.P. during 2004 then appeared on stage with Fleetwood Mac at the O2 Arena, London in September 2013, before rejoining the group the following year in time for their On with the Show tour. McVie was given a Gold Badge of Merit Award by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA), later The Ivors Academy, during 2006.

She was presented with the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement by BASCA in 2014 then was honoured with the Trailblazer Award at the UK Americana Awards during 2021, having also won a couple of Grammy Awards.
