Jane Eyre is the story of a young orphaned woman with a free spirit that makes her an alien in her aunt's household.

Later she becomes a governess and is drawn to the master of the house, eventually agreeing to marry him.

However, what follows are the trials and tribulations of a woman on her own in a predominantly man's world.
