Resident in Tasmania; 'the other end of the earth,' restored, writer, poet and actor, former teacher and tourism operator, Mim Ellis, follows the threads of gold from her ancestry of French-protestant refugee silk weavers, a London childhood with parents from a bygone era, biscuits, bomb sites and winkle-picker shoes, to her faith journey and a lost golden rose.

Intriguing inspirational stories, interspersed with photographs and poetry, are often amusing. But when her life became knotted and entangled by the frayed strands of abandonment and abuse, its tapestry becomes threadbare and is torn to shreds. Unexpectedly, God rescues her from dark depths and her life is changed.

Finally, through a fortuitous encounter, God unravels the knots and leads her to understand and come to terms with the gaslighting, trauma bonding, addiction and covert narcissistic abuse that almost destroyed her.
Exposing the intricately woven pattern of her life, God answers her question, 'Why?' challenging the reader to consider their own spirituality and potential healing.

Would you expect a helicopter pilot to explain the worth of Jesus' death so clearly? Probably not, but hopefully he does in one of her heartfelt and thought-provoking true stories. If amazing memories of pain, healing and restoration are not shared, then it was all worth nothing.
