"Artists in Profile" explores the lives of significant artists and their contemporaries.

In each book, an introductory chapter provides a brief historical overview of the world the artists were living in, including information on major events such as the World Wars.

The existing art world is also established so the reader can understand just how much the artists have rebelled or conformed to the existing traditions and what effects this might have.
