Born into a working class family, Bryan started his life enduring the hardships of rationing in post-war Britain.

He developed a flair for entrepreneurship as a teenager and bravely left his first secure but dull job to go to art college, where he used his skills to promote bands.

He never looked back. After managing the "Pretty Things", Bryan was hungry for a new act.

He found it in the Pink Floyd. At first he booked gigs for them, but was later their manager.

It was to him that Syd Barrett would turn as his life became increasingly erratic, but the musician's behaviour became too much even for Bryan.

When Barrett attacked him in his own offices, Bryan had to sever their agreement.

Bryan carved himself an equally successful career in art dealing, high fashion and the world of polo.

It was on the field that he became friends with Major Ferguson and Prince Charles and he went on to found his own club.

It's been a long journey from East End to worldwide success, but Bryan Morrison has been behind the scenes in some of the most glamorous places on earth and helped some of the biggest stars to make their name.

Now he tells his own story.
