Caravaggio : The Final Years

This film accompanies the exhibition Caravaggio: The Final Years at the National Gallery from 23 February to 22 May 2005.

During the final years of his short life, Caravaggio was on the run after being condemned to death following the murder of a man in Rome.

Consumed with guilt, his last works reveal the artist's obsessive preoccupation with religion and death.
