Oh rats! It's deceiving!

Based on his interest in altered states of reality, conceptual artist Antoine Renard encountered a naturally growing specimen of Datura stramonium, a highly hallucinogenic plant that has obtained a significant cult status.

Renard cultivated the plants in his studio. The outcome was a crop of organic art objects which were altered and sculpted.

Maxime Ballesteros, in his trademark style, captured the artist with his creations.

Alongside Merel Cladder's commentary, the result is a project that crosses the fields of art, biotechnology, shamanism and consumerism.
