The very first edition of 'The Good Bed and Breakfast Guide' was published in 1988 to a warm welcome from members of the public hungering after truly independent advice on good-value places to stay in Britain. And that is exactly what the guide, twelve years later, continues to deliver.

Once again, it has been fully re-researched and rewritten to present close to 1,200 of the best bed and breakfasts over the length and breadth of Britain, including England, Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands.

Each place has been chosen for its friendly atmosphere, cleanliness, value for money, and in many cases, its particularly attractive location.

The choice is wide: there are former rectories, chapels, and mills, as well as working farms, country cottages, modern family homes, converted barns, and even a decommissioned coast guard station.

All choices are provided for the inquisitive traveller, with some costing as little as #15 per night -- some less than that.
