Emphasis will be on methods of inquiry for both of the disciplines of science and mathematics appropriate to the age of the students.

In many cases the selected children's literature will deal with major issues in science and mathematics which changed the course of how those disciplines are studied.

These may include: the Galilean Revolution, the discovery of genetics, evolution, physical geography and navigation, etc.
