The Art of Critical Thinking - okay, what does that mean? Why should you even care about this?

Well, have you ever come across an idea or a story on social media or heard someone say something at school that had you perplexed, that made you shake your head and wonder how they could be thinking this? Did you find that you wanted to explore further what they were saying, to possibly dispute their seemingly flawed notion? If so, you are on the way to becoming a critical thinker.

Critical Thinking is a part of Philosophy and Philosophical Concepts. Philosophers who lived in Ancient Greece to those who exist today have imparted their ideologies through critical thinking. It is the basis for their conclusions and the source of all good arguments.

Did you know that Philosophy plays a very integral part in our everyday lives? It touches on things that we consider very common, like love, hate, death, life, religion, beauty, art, and even things that gross us out or make us angry, happy or unhappy. The great Philosophers like Aristotle, Plato, Confucius, Neitzche, Kant, and Chomsky knew this. They explored all of these subjects in-depth, breaking them down, studying them, trying to understand how they affect humans and humanity. They tried to find answers to the impossible questions. They elevated the debate as they investigated what makes the world turn.

We intend to explore these Philosophers, examine their lives, who they were, what they conceived, and how their conclusions affected the world. We will present each philosopher and even various Philosophical Concepts in each book of this series - Be A Great Thinker.

We start the series, Be A Great Thinker, with Book One - The Introduction to Critical Thinking. In this book, we will look at what it is to be a critical thinker, and we will also explore Philosophy and how it touches on our everyday lives. You will see the ways Philosophy affects who we are and how critical thinking can make us more profound and logical thinkers. How being a critical thinker might even give you an advantage against the class bully, or that annoying know-it-all.
