This photocopiable book is designed to support teachers across the primary phase with a range of practical tasks to take children through the programmes of study for design and technology and allow them to develop and practise their skills and knowledge.

The activities offer ideas for working with a range of tools and materials, including paper and card, textiles and food, allowing children to explore how such materials can be changed to suit different purposes.

Sections include constructional skills and techniques, practical aspects of mechanical and electrical control, and record keeping, with planning and record sheets for the teacher, plus a cross-curricular topic grid.
