City Kids and City Critters!

Based on the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center's kid-tested classes and programs, the activities in this book educate children living in densely populated areas about the need to protect wildlife habitats - even in urban environments - for future generations.

The Houston center was created with the goal of providing inner-city children with access to a natural forest/field environment.

Since its inception, its hand-on educational programs have grown to reach nearly 10,000 children annually.

Now, through "City Kids and City Critters!", kids everywhere can share this experience.

The book combines a field-guide approach with an activity format that transforms kids into nature detectives and urban explorers.
