A practical introduction to care

This text is one of three titles that provides training material for NVQ Care Awards.

It is an in-service development programme for staff working in residential care homes for older people, providing fundamental easy-to-use materials which every care home should have to train its staff to the level of NVQ Level II.

The training of care home staff has become a pressing issue as more people with high dependency levels are admitted to residential care.

Subjects covered include moving and handling people safely, accident procedures, fire emergencies, caring about individual needs, using special equipment and understanding rules and regulations.
