Model and Supermodel : The Artists' Model in British Art and Culture

This work reflects the recent revival of interest in figurative art which has prompted a reassessment of the whole position of the artist's model.

It contains a range of associated discussions from a variety of perspectives, including a consideration of the cultural historical resonance of the model and the use to which individual artists as different as Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Lucian Freud put their models.

This work does not argue a particular theoretical standpoint or posit a revisionist approach, but offer a series of lively takes on the phenomenon of the artist's model.

It includes two interviews, with an artist (Peter Blake) and a model (Susannah Gregory).
