This magical poem is considered by many to be Tolkein's epilogue to his classic work "The Lord Of The Rings".

Ship, my ship! I seek the west, And fields and mountains ever blest.

Farewell to Middle-earth at last! I see the Star above your mast! The text is a chronicle of Bilbo's musings just before he leaves Middle Earth to take a ship to the Undying Lands at the end of "Lord Of The Rings".

Pauline Baynes, Tolkein's favourite illustrator, has realised the text with jewel-like paintings in full colour depicting fabulous scenes from "The Lord Of The Rings" and "The Hobbit".

It includes extensive artist's notes and references on the inspiration for the illustrations.
