This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, MICAI 2000, held in Acapulco, Mexico, in April 2000.The 60 revised full papers presented with six invited contributions were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 163 submissions from 17 countries.
