In the Shadow of Mountains

Keely Greer meets Jonathan Swift at her father's small airfield in Colorado. She agrees to charter his flight to Las Vegas. After she expertly handles engine trouble and lands them safely on the ground, Jonathan offers Keely a job with his company. Keely Greer leaves the mountains of Colorado for London and Swift Enterprises. She knows little except Jonathan's company handles security issues for various governmental and non-governmental clients.

After in-depth training significantly more than her training in Air Force Intelligence, she is assigned to investigate politicians, bank presidents and white-collar criminals. Keely tells Jonathan there must be something more, but he warns not to be so quick to jump into more dangerous situations.

However, Jonathan's assignment is amended by their client, testing Keely's ethical boundaries. She puts all her skills to use to assassinate a banker connected to Neo-Nazis. Terrified she is able to kill so easily, she fears she will lose herself if she stays with Swift. She quits, but Jonathan asks for one last surveillance mission.

In the mountains of the Republic of Georgia, Keely and her team come upon a farm family, a man, his wife and children. The father leads her to a truck park Keely has been sent to find. She sends Irina, a contractor working for Swift, to Tbilisi to contact Jonathan with coordinates. The next morning, explosions break the silence and peace of the valley. Keely runs to the truck park to find it destroyed. When she returns to the farmhouse, she watches as masked men brutally kill the family. Something in her snaps, and she exacts vengeance for the death of innocents and innocence.

Keely escapes to Tangier to find absolution. Just as she finds some peace and a chance at love, Jonathan finds her. He warns she is in immediate danger. She refuses to believe him until circumstances persuade her otherwise. Then, she must choose if she will run again or join Jonathan to track down the threat.
