Rocks : Limestone and Quarrying - Additional CD-ROMs

This CD-ROM contains interactive video, text, with links to a selection of websites, maps and lesson plans about limestone landscape, quarrying and the environment and the properties and uses of limestone and slate.

Video clips can be shown on a whiteboard to a whole class, used for individual study or networked for a whole class.

The two lesson plans featured on this CD-ROM are: Limestone Landscape, in the Yorkshire Dales - the geomorphology of the Yorkshire Dales (for 11-13 year olds). and Quarrying and the Environment, a Case Study from India - the issues surrounding limestone quarrying in the foothills of the Himalayas (for 14-16 year olds).
