It serves as a personal reference book for each individual, using the Aurally Coded English (ACE) system.

As pupils meet a word that they are unsure how to spell, they can use the ACE dictionary to find it.

As that word is likely to be needed again, it can be added by hand to each pupil's personal wordbank.Words are listed in the same style as in the dictionary - each page contains a pattern heading, picture clue and starter words.
