Mersuka Dopazo is a Spanish artist with a rising reputation who creates large-scale naive-style collages out of couture fabric and hand-made papers sourced from local craftsmen.

She also works with natural materials like leaves, sand, burlap or paper.

These artworks clearly show the influence of the artist's wide travels in Asia and Africa and years of experimentation, ranging from Cezanne's post-impressionism to the techniques of pure abstraction.

They are boisterous and cheerful works, showing great originality and lyricism, suggesting a celebration of imagination, fantasy and spontaneity.

Her creations also include a series of figurative works, seascapes and portraits, where she displays an intricate combination of curved and turning brushstrokes.

She opened her fist solo exhibition at the Rebecca Hassack Art Gallery in Charlotte Street, Fitzrovia, London and has since been exhibited extensively in the UK, the USA (New York), Canada Singapore, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Paris and throughout Europe.

She is currently based in Bali.
