During a party in the Metropolis Centennial Park, a bolt of lightning strikes radio "shock jock" Leslie Willis.

When she awakes, Willis has gained the power to control electricity . . . and gained an even greater hated of Superman. Soon, the newly named Livewire sends shockwaves throughout the city and threatens the lives of Metropolis's citizens.
