Generally regarded as one of the finest illustrated books of the Romantic period, it is often compared with the masterpieces of 18th-century book illustration.

In this rare French edition, pages of commentary and musical arrangements accompany the exquisite engravings.

The original French texts of the songs, bordered by these lovely 19th-century illustrations, have been omitted here.

What is left are unique vignette borders that may be used in a wide variety of graphic projects.The selection of these 60 plates has been made with an eye toward retaining the finest works from the original collection and providing those designs that will best serve the needs of today's artists and designers.
