Globetrotter's "The Best of" series will provide attractive, handy pocket guides to popular destinations.

The books will feature well-presented, to-the-point sections on the highlights of the city or region, places of interest, activities, accommodation, where to eat out, entertainment and excursions.

They will feature travel tips, a general index and also a separate index for the places of interest.

Each entry will cross reference with the fold-out maps.

The Highlights chapters will feature an introduction to each of the 20 featured highlights, information on its location and how to get there, contact details, opening hours, entry fees and tour details where applicable.

The Sightseeing chapters will feature places like beaches, nature reserves, historic buildings, galleries and museums, or parks and gardens.

These chapters are arranged in directory form, with contact details, nearest metro stops, opening hours, and entry fees for each featured site. Activities chapters feature sports, activities for children, unusual activities unique to the region, suggested routes for walking tours (including map grid references, distance and duration, where to eat and drink) and organized tours, while the Shopping chapters will cover shops and markets.

Accommodation will include listings by area and price category.

Eating out will cover the food of the region, as well as listings of suggested venues by area and price.

Entertainment will include nightlife, music, theatre, festivals, casinos, pubs and clubs, and spectator sports.
