Extreme Killers: Tales of the World's Most Prolific Serial Killers

This collection of true crime stories, the fourth book in the newly launched Profiles in Crime series, chronicles the exploits of 15 of history's most infamous "extreme killers"- that is, serial killers with more than 50 confirmed murders.

Historical in scope and international in breadth the book's subjects range from 15th-century French child-killer Gilles de Rais, the purported inspiration for the folk legend of "Bluebeard", to Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole, the inspirations for the film 'Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer'; Samuel Little, the most prolific serial killer in U.S. with 60 confirmed and 93 claimed kills; and Mikhail Popkov, dubbed "The Werewolf" by Russian media for the murders of more than 70 women between 1992 and 2010.
