This CD-ROM is a comprehensive exposition on the works of August Rodin.

It offers an introduction to Rodin's sculptures, drawings and photographs and throws light on the many and various aspects of his oeuvre.

It is produced with the participation of the Rodin Museum in Paris.

The CD-ROM is arranged in three sections: the first offers a guided tour presenting Rodin's major works using video sequences and photographs, with commentaries; the second displays Rodin's major works, with more than 500 images including preparatory studies, each with its own commentary; and the third is a portrait of Rodin's life, work and inspiration, including a chronological guide.

It is part of a series of six CD-ROM titles which examine the work of Bruegel, Rembrandt, Rodin, Rubens, Van Eyck and Vermeer.

The work of these eminent artists and their immediate contemporaries is set against the history of their life and times, illuminating their influences and inspirations in a comprehensive yet accessible way.

The CD-ROMs include reproductions which facilitate study of the paintings as a whole or in detail, while pre-set details highlight the minutiae of the paintings. Cross referencing between the paintings, text and index shows the artists, themes and techniques, as well as providing social and biographical details.
