Joseph Stalin : a biographical companion

This biographical companion covers Stalin's life and political career from 1879 to 1953, and in particular describes the more personal side of the man who orchestrated the Great Terror of the 1930s and constructed the Soviet monolith.

The volume contains entries on the individuals, many of them victims, who became caught up in Stalin's life and career, and makes use of information now available from archival sources opened since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
