This book chronicles the history of football in North and South America and describes the incredible passion emanating from Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil in the early 1900s, which led them to numerous World Cup triumphs and enabled them to produce the best players in the world.The book also describes the struggles Canada and the USA have endured to establish a financially stable league system in the face of competition from the iconic American football culture which dominates sport in North America.

It also touches on the struggles some of the South American countries have endured to protect soccer from corruption and drug abuse, and, in the case of Central America, having to keep their league system going whilst their countries were at war.
