For the 9th edition of "Cordery on Solicitors" the text has been rewritten to reflet both the characteristics of modern practice and the actual and potential effects of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990.

This edition also addresses numerous areas not covered in the 8th edition, including training and qualifications, financial regulations and legal aid and legal expensed insurance.

It takes full account of the current Practice Rules, the Notes of Guidance by the Law Society and the Written Professional Standards, and include a full range of statutory materials and Law Society Statements and Guidelines.

The general editor, Philip Ely, heads an editorial team drawn from all branches of the profession.

To ensure that further changes in law and practice can be incorporated with ease, the 9th edition of "Cordery on Solicitors" is published in two looseleaf volumes and will be updated twice a year.
