Ernest has talked very little about his war experience over the years.

Realizing when he is gone the memory would be gone and realizing that that is true of this entire generation, we set out to document those memories.

This book seeks to capture his experience as he related it to me.

I will admit, my effort to get more of his personal feelings from day to day failed miserably.
