Smithers' Mammals of Southern Africa : A Field Guide (Re-issue)

Based on Reay Smithers' original work "Land Mammals of Southern Africa", this revised and expanded field guide to Southern African mammals is intended for the general reader as well as the wildlife enthusiast.

Each species entry includes an illustration, a distribution map, a discussion of the animal's habits, spoor illustrations, conservation symbols, activity symbols, and a Smithers' number for reference to "Mammals of the Southern African Subregion".

Black and white line drawings show the relative scale of groups of similar mammals to aid further identification.
