It describes ruins in all parts of Ceylon. It is described with 12 photographic illustrations and 3 maps.

Sites noticed include: Anuradhapura; Mihintale; Polonnaruwa; Sigiriya; Dambulla; Aluwihare; and, Kalawewa.
