Christopher Columbus had set the wheels in motion for hundreds of out-of-work soldiers of the Spanish army, to gain a new life, in the new world of the Americas.

After many decades of war, this new lease of life offered adventure and a chance to get rich, for those that would decide to make the move from their homeland of Spain.

The Diego Candle ship took a young seventeen year-old boy, called Hernando Cortez and his new-found friends on an adventure to the new world, that he would never forget.

The road to purification was the last stop to conquering the Aztec empire - a civilisation that had taken a millennium to build, only to be taken apart in less than two years.
