Margaret Cook was the wife of Robin Cook, Foreign Secretary.

She also pursued her own career as a haematologist. In the summer of 1997, the News of the World revealed that Robin Cook was having an affair with his diary secretary.

The Cooks separated and in March 1998 were divorced.
