Field is a department Journal of Anthropology Department of Yunnan University.

It was founded in 2001. The first issue of the journal is mainly the graduation thesis of 1997 undergraduates majoring in anthropology, and also contains the field notes of junior students.

After the publication, it also became a place for anthropological students to practice writing, and was once praised by other universities.

Later, for many reasons, such as the adjustment of departments, Field was suspended for several years.

Since 2012, when the undergraduate ethnology major of Yunnan University resumed enrollment, the Field series has been reopened.

It publishes one book every year, and the third grade students in that year are mainly responsible for writing, organizing, editing and typesetting.

The journal has also become a platform for students majoring in ethnology to meet friends and communicate freely.

Up to now, Field has published six copies, but due to the limited reading before, it adopts the internal distribution method.

Until the latest issue, it was finally published by Yunnan University Press with the support of leaders at all levels of the College of Ethnology and Sociology.
