Christy: A Change of Seasons

Typhoid fever is sweeping through Cutter Gap, leaving suffering and death in its wake.

The people of this tiny mountain hamlet are quick to blame the outside world-even as Dr. Neil MacNeill applies the medical skills he acquired in that same world to save their lives. Yet, tragically, he cannot save one of Christy’s beloved friends.

The loss rocks Christy’s faith to the core. How could God allow such suffering? Does he care? Does he even exist? The answers that once sufficed no longer do. In the face of Christy’s spiritual crisis, David Grantland, the young preacher at the mission school, provides faith and assurance for her to lean on.
