Finn comes home from school to find his sister murdered - and his drunk father pointing a gun at his head. When his mother tries to stop her husband's violent outrage, he misfires and kills her instead. 

Desperate for an escape, Finn runs. Seven months of homelessness later, he finds himself at a halfway house run by the adopted mom of his childhood friend, Zoey. 

Romantic tension builds between Finn and Zoey. However, when Zoey goes missing, pivotal family secrets come to light, and Finn's catalyst for relapse moves into the house, Finn faces the decision to stay and fight to build a life with his found family or run away from another situation of pain and loss.
