Protecting Children : A Training Pack for Front-line Carers

Anybody who works with children may at some point be forced to confront the issue of child abuse.

This training and resource pack is designed to educate those who will be working in a non-therapeutic way with children who have been abused such as teachers, health visitors and nursery nurses.

The pack consists of a manual and a video cassette. The manual covers teaching children self protection strategies, helping children and carers to deal with their feelings, recognizing child abuse, legal provisions under the Children Act of 1989 and so on.

The cassette is part of an LWT television programme and deals primarily with how child abusers target children.
