Five children are naturally disappointed, when their mother cancels
their annual holiday abroad. Luckily, Ana, a long-standing family friend
steps in to ‘bridge the gap’, inviting the children to holiday with her on
her vineyard in Spain. The vineyard is superbly situated: close to
Marbella and just around the corner and up a mountain path from the
British colony of Gibraltar.
But will the children’s parents agree? Will they let them fly abroad all
by themselves?
What’s more, the children have a secret. They haven’t told their parents,
but they’ll also be searching for gold! The gold is rumoured to have
lain in Ana’s Spanish vineyard, longer than anyone can remember and
has been associated with strange and bizarre goings on.
The children could come back as self-made millionaires, but they
suspect the local building contractor has already beaten them to it and
stolen Ana’s gold. In which case, will they be able to recover the stolen
gold and become super-rich?
There are many potential pitfalls awaiting them on this holiday, literally
and otherwise. Added to this, the vineyard is threatened by drought as
a result of climate change.
Will this all make for the good and memorable holiday they were
hoping for?
An exciting, factual and informative adventure for young readers,
written by an author who knows this spectacular and special area well,
having lived in Gibraltar and toured nearby Spain. Besides putting this
stunning area on the map, the book is a must-read for logical and
imaginative minds alike.
