Originally published in 1933, this book presents an English translation of the French aristocrat François de La Rochefoucauld's travel memoir, Mélanges sur l'Angleterre.

The text provides a detailed account of English manners and customs, together with a record of two journeys through Suffolk and Norfolk undertaken by La Rochefoucauld during 1784.

An editorial introduction, comprehensive textual notes and illustrative figures are also included.

This is a highly readable book that will be of value to anyone with an interest in travel writing and the history of East Anglia.
