The Yangtze

This text takes us on a journey along the Yangtze. It is part of a series which includes some of the longest rivers in the world, and which aims to emphasize the geographical significance of these great waterways in terms of, for example, trade, irrigation, and the development of settlements and industry along their banks.

The books relate the rivers as they are today to their geographical contexts, their economic significance, their historical development and their cultural importance.Included is a simplified map showing the location and course of the Yangtze, showing key cities, manufacturing towns and ports.
