Crusades

Double bill of historical dramas. In 'Richard the Lionheart', set during the Third Crusade, King Richard (Steven Waddington) receives orders from the Pope to capture the Holy Land and sets out to lead a coalition army to fulfil his task.

The cast also includes Leon Ockenden, Harry Lloyd and Alice Patten. In 'The Sultan and the Saint', set during the Crusades of the 13th century, Catholic preacher Saint Francis of Assisi (Alexander McPherson) meets Sultan Al-Kamil of Egypt (Zack Beyer) on the battlefield in a bid to broker an end to the violent conflict.
