Measure for Measure: Royal Shakespeare Company

Live performance of Shakespeare's dark comedy recorded at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Set in Vienna amongst its infamous brothels, the story follows Angelo (Sandy Grierson) as he takes over the reigns of the city from the Duke (Antony Byrne).

As Angelo starts to implement extreme changes, clamping down on crime and punishment, he sentences young Claudio (James Cooney) to death for getting a girl pregnant out of wedlock.

As Claudio's friends try to plead with Angelo to change his mind, a web of lies and deceit unfurls.
