Twisting the Knife - Four Films By Claude Chabrol

Collection of four French dramas from director Claude Chabrol.

In 'The Swindle' (1997), con artists Betty (Isabelle Huppert) and Victor (Michel Serrault) are soon out of their depth when Betty gets ambitious and steals millions from Maurice (François Cluzet), a courier for money launderers. 'The Colour of Lies' (1999) stars Jacques Gamblin as René Sterne, who becomes the main suspect in the murder of a young girl.

Despite the lack of evidence, the investigation ruins his life as everyone turns against him. 'Nightcap' (2000) is based on the novel 'The Chocolate Cobweb' by Charlotte Armstrong. André Polonski (Jacques Dutronc) is a famous pianist who left his first wife Mika (Huppert) for another woman with whom he had a son.

When she died, he remarried Mika. Jeanne (Anna Mouglalis), who might be André's daughter, arrives in their lives and begins to suspect that Mika is poisoning André's son and may have been involved with his second wife's death.

Finally in 'The Flower of Evil' (2003), scandal engulfs a wealthy family when Anne (Nathalie Baye) decides to run for mayor.
