Though the Merry Men have disbanded following the death of the original Robin of Loxley, the kidnapping of Marion (Judi Trott) inspires young Robert of Huntingdon (Jason Connery) to don the late Robin's trademark hood.

With the encouragement of Herne the Hunter (John Abineri), Robert sets about regrouping Robin's band, including Will Scarlet (Ray Winstone) and Friar Tuck (Phil Rose), and they resume their activities as righteous outlaws.
