Syncopation

American comedy directed by William Dieterle charting the emergence of jazz and ragtime music during the early part of the 20th century.

Following the completion of his musical studies Reggie makes the move to Chicago where his improvisation skills prove hugely popular.

Meanwhile, Kit Latimer (Bonita Granville) meets street musician Johnny Schumacher (Jackie Cooper) and a romance develops between the pair.

However, in order to make a living as musicians, and remain inspired, they will have to make some tough decisions.
