Rollerball

In the year 2018, the world is ruled by corporate powers and one of the principle forms of entertainment is Rollerball, a fast paced sport played around a circular track.

When the reigning champion (James Caan) becomes too popular, and refuses the corporation's request that he retire, the rules of the sport are changed in a deliberate attempt to get rid of him - the contestants now find themselves engaged in a game where the main objective is to kill your opponent.
