Following the death of a crew member aboard the submarine HMS Vigil which is believed to be due to a drug overdose, DCI Amy Silva (Jones) is tasked with boarding the vessel to investigate.

However, when her early findings suggest that foul play was involved, Silva is met with hostility which results in a stand-off between the police and the Royal Navy.
